The training we got between 16-07-09 to 18-07-09 provided very interesting opportunity to learn free software and computer technology. It created a lot of enthusiasm on me. I thank Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, Free software Movement Karnataka (FSMK), itfc and their support for providing such a wonderful experience.

Training on Computer and free software given by Vinay on 16-07-09, Naveen on 17-07-09,and Raghavendra on 18-07-09 with Anupama and others volunteers were very good .The session and training provided by Vinay ,Naveen,and Raghavendra were really unforgettable.

Free software philosophy session, session on open office, writer, impress and spreadsheet, given by Raghavendra were very creative and was very informative. Session on internet browsing, email, Wikipedia, was very simple and was very clear.

By attending this training we got direction on how to use computer. This would help us to best equip on teaching students at school and also help us to study and improve our self. In the globalized world; they showed us how we Indians can move ahead using the help of advanced facilities like computer, internet facility.

We got a direction from DIET on15/07/2009 to attend the free software training that is scheduled to start on 16/07/2009. We thought the training was on Microsoft HRMS. When we learnt, this training was on GNU Linux, we were very happy and became enthusiastic as this gave us a new opportunity to study new technology.

On 16/07/2009, we got a very detailed lecture from Naveen Mudunuru on Free software philosophy and by Shri. Vinay on the Computer architecture.

On 17/07/2009, we got training on Office Writer, Spreadsheet, Calc, Impress. Raghavendra, Naveen Mudunuru, and Anupama were the trainers on that day, and sessions were very good and very informative.

On 18/07/2009, a detailed session on Internet, Email, web browsing was provided BY Raghavendra and Mayank.

FSMK volunteers and ITFC were very helpful and directing us through the session. We have not attended such interactive and useful training sessions before. The previous trainings were having less number of trainers, and resulted in less concentration on the trainees. This current training was different in its approach and attitude, and in that aspect this 3 day training session is very important.

The FSMK community support was very crucial on this training. They were very helpful and were very careful on teaching and directing each trainee. They were neither angry (when questions or clarifications were raised), nor bored, and were always coming forward for helping us with a smiling face. The complex subjects which were newer to us were explained in simple and
elegant way. FSMK volunteers came forward to those trainees, who were shy to ask questions and clarifications and cleared their doubts. They always tried to improvise and taught us in well manner.

Training on spreadsheet was very informative and useful for me. This would help me to prepare students’ mark sheet and create formulas in more efficient way.

This training as a whole was really good. I thank on the behalf of all trainees to volunteers - Anupama, Seema, Mayank and FSMK volunteers – Naveen, Raghavendra, Sreejith, Shajid. I am thanking SSA, DIET for providing us this marvellous opportunity and sponsoring this training session.

I appreciate FSMK’s and other volunteers’ social work, approach and attitude without expecting any monitory benefit. It is really a rare phenomenon and I thank you for your promise on coming to schools to help us in future also.

3 days GNU-Linux training

I am very happy to say that the GNU Linux training is one of the best computer trainings in my professional career. Here we feel free home atmosphere. We learnt a lot from the faculty. I appreciate their dedication, tolerance, approach and attitude.
I am expecting the second phase also would be fruitful as the first phase.
